Biomass Day Conference in Athens

Friday 7 April 2017: The BIOENERGY EXPO is an International Exhibition for Sustainability, Green Building, Renewables and Energy Saving Technologies for both existing and new buildings and built environment. In the framework of the exhibition, the Greek Biomass Association (HellaBiom) as a member of the European Biomass Association (AEBIOM) co-organized with the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources (CRES) in the exhibition’s parallel event of BIOMASS DAY the conference ‚The Exploitation of Biomass: Applications, Opportunities and Conditions‘. The attendants were informed about several issues regarding biomass and bioenergy exploitation in Greece and all over Europe, energy exploitation of industrial and agricultural wastes, R&D and demonstration projects in the bioenergy and bioeconomy sector.

The representatives of the cluster presented the SecureChain project and the prospects of biomass district heating systems in Western Macedonia. In addition, contacts and meetings were held with operators and companies, and a strong interest in the subject was expressed, particularly with regard to the prospect of developing the biomass supply chain in Western Macedonia.
